What do I think about when I come to the class room: My Teaching Philosophy
Welcome to my teaching philosophy page. Here, I share the core beliefs that shape my approach to education and guide my interactions with students. Discover the principles that drive my passion for teaching and learning.

My Belief in You
What I love most about teaching is the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals, each bringing their own unique experiences, perspectives, and personal stories. I believe that these differences enrich the learning environment, foster meaningful collaboration, and create stronger, more dynamic teams. Every student possesses unique potential and deserves an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment in which to learn and grow. By encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and mutual respect, I strive to help students develop both professionally and personally while cultivating a lifelong commitment to learning.

I want you to be successful
In the classroom, I am always mindful of helping students achieve success on their CMTO registration examinations while also preparing them for the realities of professional practice. My goal is to ensure students develop not only the knowledge and clinical reasoning required to meet regulatory expectations, but also the communication, critical thinking, professionalism, and practical skills needed to succeed in the workplace. By connecting course content to authentic clinical situations, I strive to create learning experiences that prepare graduates to be both examination-ready and confident, competent healthcare professionals.

Have Fun
I believe that being a healthcare practitioner is about more than developing clinical knowledge and technical skills—it is about building meaningful connections with people and helping them improve their quality of life. To do that effectively, practitioners must find genuine fulfillment and purpose in their work. As an educator, I strive to foster that enthusiasm for the profession early in a student's academic journey. I believe learning is most impactful when students are engaged, challenged, and enjoying the process. Creating a positive and enjoyable learning environment not only makes education more meaningful, but also helps students retain knowledge, develop confidence, and begin shaping the professional identity they will carry into practice. My hope is that students leave the classroom not only with the skills required to succeed, but with a lasting passion for helping others and for the profession itself.

My Teaching Philosphy
I believe learning is most effective when students feel safe, supported, and valued. My goal is to create an inclusive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions, share perspectives, and challenge themselves without fear of judgment. When students feel a sense of belonging, they are more likely to engage with the material, collaborate with their peers, and develop a genuine desire to learn.
I strive to foster a classroom culture built on respect, curiosity, collaboration, and community. By creating meaningful and engaging learning experiences, I aim to make education both enjoyable and relevant, helping students build confidence while developing the knowledge and skills required for success.
I consider it both an honour and a privilege to be part of each student's educational journey. My responsibility extends beyond simply teaching course content; it is to support, encourage, and guide students as they work toward their goals. While the journey to becoming a healthcare professional can be challenging, I believe it should also be rewarding and enjoyable. My hope is that students leave the classroom not only with new knowledge and skills, but with positive memories, meaningful connections, and a lasting enthusiasm for the profession. Ultimately, I strive to ensure that students graduate with the confidence, knowledge, and professional skills necessary to successfully begin their careers as Registered Massage Therapists.
