Who am I
I believe each student is on their own individual journey and I love that I get to be a part of that journey and even if just for a short period of time get to know them. I think it's only fair that if I get to know my students, I share a little about myself.

My Origin Story
My story begins with a happy upbringing in Fonthill, Ontario, just five minutes from Niagara College. While I have many fond childhood memories, sport was at the centre of many of them. As I approached high school graduation, I had not yet decided on a specific career path, but I knew I was passionate about sport, physical activity, and understanding how the human body moves.

My journey to Massage Therapy and Teaching
After high school, I attended Brock University with the goal of becoming a physical education teacher. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for sport with a growing interest in teaching. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in Anatomy and Physiology and was particularly inspired by courses focused on working with individuals with disabilities. One guest lecture, delivered by a Registered Massage Therapist discussing the treatment of individuals with Cerebral Palsy, left a lasting impression on me. That experience helped shape my career direction, and after completing my Bachelor of Physical Education, I pursued further education to become a Registered Massage Therapist.

Registered Massage Therapy
My teaching career was temporarily on hold as I attended the Canadian Therapeutic College and become a RMT. Most of my career was spent not only treating at a Multi-Disciplinary Clinic but also managing up to 10 different clinics for over 20 years.

Niagara College
When Niagara College launched its Massage Therapy program in 2020, it presented an opportunity for my career to come full circle. While I remain actively engaged in clinical practice as a Registered Massage Therapist, my role as an educator has become equally rewarding. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience in patient care, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, clinical expertise, and professional experiences with future Massage Therapists. Contributing to the development of competent, compassionate, and evidence-informed practitioners is a privilege, and I take great pride in helping students prepare for successful and fulfilling careers in the profession.
